So, this made me happy

Okay, on Disney Channel (I know, I know. But you watch it too! Admit it!) I was watching Sonny with a Chance and there was some banter between the characters Tawni and Sonny which I found hilarious.

"Maybe you don't have a spark."
"I know why, it's because we planned out our first kiss! Who does that?"
"People without a spark."
"When you kiss someone it needs to be spontaneous, like there's no one else in the world. Like you... and that muffin! Come up for air."
"See, that's a spark."
-Tawni, Sonny

I totally paraphrased this but it made me laugh even now. :)
The idea of muffins brings me to The Importance of Being Earnest.

"How you can sit there eating muffins when we're in this terrible trouble, I can't make out! It seems to me to be perfectly heartless..."
"I can hardly eat muffins in an agitated manner. The butter would probably get on my cuffs."
-Jack, Algy

"Good heavens, I suppose a man may eat his own muffins in his own garden."
"But you have just said it was perfectly heartless to eat muffins!"
"I said it was perfectly heartless of YOU under the circumstances. That is a very different thing."
"That may be, but the muffins are the same!"
-Jack, Algy

"This afternoon during my temporary absence in London on an important question of romance, he obtained admission to my house by means of the false pretence of being my brother. Under an assumed name he drank, I've just been informed by my butler, an entire pint bottle of my Perrier-Jouet, Brut, '89; wine I was specially reserving for myself. Continuing his disgraceful deception, he succeeded in the course of the afternoon in alienating the affections of my only ward. He subsequently stayed to tea, and devoured every single muffin. And what makes his conduct all the more heartless is, that he was perfectly well aware from the first that I have no brother, that I never had a brother, and that I don't intend to have a brother, not even of any kind. I distinctly told him so myself
yesterday afternoon."
-Jack

Let's be honest though, the whole play/film is chalk full of good, clean humor. I adore it.

  1. We actually don't GET Disney channel, soooo...

BUT, the Importance of Being Ernest is quite possibly one of the best creations, ever.
    Love it.
"RISE, SIR, from your Semi-recumbent posture!"
    And
    "A HANDBAG?!" Are my favorites.

  2. It is a film I could watch over and over. Lady Bracknell has so many good lines! In fact, every word that comes out of her mouth is hilarious!
