President Uchtdorf is absolutely fabulous. Anna and I text each other thoughts or scriptures from our study every day, and today I was reading his talk "Your Happily Ever After".
He knows how to put things in such a way that I understand, enjoy, and want to read on. His words have a power.
"Isn’t that what we all desire: to be the heroes and heroines of our own stories; to triumph over adversity; to experience life in all its beauty; and, in the end, to live happily ever after?"
That's what I desire. Real life application! Things might seem like they'll never turn out the way you want. But, the important thing to remember is that Heavenly Father will always help us reach our Happily Ever After. We can trust him.
Some might read President Uchtdorf's and think it naive, a cute story to tell a bunch of girls, but get this: I believe it all. I think there is such truth in those words. It's valid and I love it.
Proof in point: today was kinda slow and I was feeling a bit, ah, ridiculous and then I received a lovely email from Kaitlin and it made me feel so much happier! And, then I was reminded of the wonder that is snapping. You might think, "Hmm... snapping. Really Caroline?" Really! You snap to show approval of poetry, to get in your dog's face, to feel the beat of a fun song. Snapping is awesome!
Even in that small example, snapping, I see that there is so much good in the world, so much happiness, how can you not believe in a Happily Ever After? The end.
Caroline, I was reading this at work and you made me smile and laugh out loud. I love your view of snapping. Why are you so awesome?
ReplyDeleteI learned from the best, Laurel
ReplyDeleteCaroline, your email made me happy too! Win-win! :) And snapping is a pretty fantastic thing.
