Just kidding Jess! I stalk you too.
Today was awesome! Just saying. Now, there's the awesome news and the awesome spiritual. We're going to go in that order.
I auditioned for my big piano festival dealio today. I was flippin out. I shouldn't have. I've played that piece a billion and a half times. But still, this was a big deal. I had the longest piece. The judges are supposed to stop you after 2 minutes. They let me finish!! And Notturno (by Grieg) is like 4 1/2 minutes. AHA! Way to work the system. I loved it because everybody who played could PLAY the piano. They were so talented and I loved the expression in their pieces. I was probably the second oldest person there, so I was impressed that kids at that age could play so well. It was such a good experience. They're calling my teacher tonight to see it I made it in. That will be fun to wait for.
Now for the spiritual. Today in seminary we had a lesson about Joseph Smith. At the end of the lesson, our teacher challenged us to share our testimony of him and one of the ways he mentioned was blogging. "HEY!" I thought, "I have a blog!" So, I'm utilizing it.
Joseph Smith is one of the greatest examples for me. I'm so grateful for him. He amazes me because at the age when I was grumpy and rude and selfish, he was called to bring the full gospel back to this earth. And he was willing to do it. He translated the Book of Mormon through inspiration. That is the only way that book could have been written as it was. That is a true book. A perfect book. And I'm so grateful that he lived his life in such a way as to be worthy to translate it. I'm grateful that he responded to the Spirit as he did. I'm grateful for the life he lived. He lived a blessed life. He lived a hard life. He lived. And he died for this church. And for that I know that he will be rewarded. I know that in Heaven I'll be one to shake his hand and maybe even give him a ginormous squeeze! I know that the keys that were brought to the earth during his time are essential to my eternity. I'm so grateful for the temple and the work that's done there. I can't wait to meet Joseph and thank him in person. I know that he was a great man. He did so much, he dedicated his life to this gospel. I know he was a prophet of God. He was the Lord's mouthpiece and he was on the Lord's errand. I'm trying to be more like him. I love him. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
Now off to Jessica's to do math! But I'm on a spiritual high right now so nothing can bring me down!! Not even calculus! Go read JSH 1. You'll be happier!
I LOVE THIS POST. I love that such an amazing thing has my name in the title. You are so wonderful. Also very inspiring. I love you, and I am glad we are studying calculus together. The test doesn't seem to intimidating that way.
